Atlanta

Dan had a conference for work in Atlanta from Thursday to Tuesday, so Noah and I decided we would tag along instead of staying home alone all that time. This was our first time traveling with Noah so we were a little nervous about having everything we would need and how Noah would do. Of course, Noah had the biggest suitcase out of all of us! He did great on the way down - he slept for about 3 hours, and then we stopped to feed him. He was awake the rest of the way, but did pretty well. He started to melt down as we were turning into the hotel, but I hopped out with him quick and he settled down as soon as he was out in the fresh air. We got settled with all of our stuff and Noah loved checking out the hotel room.
Here he is looking out the window at all the buildings. He absolutely loved this! He is so curious and loves to take everything in!
Thursday night, we went on a little family date. We went out to eat and then to get a cupcake. Here is Dan and Noah outside the cupcake shop.
On Friday, Dan headed to his conference and Noah and I headed to the hotel pool. There was hardly anybody there so it was really nice. Noah loved it! We went in the water some and sat on the lounge chairs some too!

Once again, Noah loved taking everything in. There was a guy swimming laps and Noah sat for a long time just watching him swim back and forth.

Then it was time to get his wiggles out! Such a happy boy!
Dan had asked me to come pick him up from the conference to save on the taxi fare. It was only 6 miles away, so I figured no big deal. Well, it was a big deal!! It took me almost 45 minutes to get there because the traffic was so bad. To make matters even worse, Noah screamed for the first half of the trip. I am not an aggressive driver and I do not like traffic. So I made Dan drive back and I told him I would NOT be coming to get him for the rest of the week. Check out this Atlanta traffic...I don't know how people drive in this everyday!!
On Saturday, Noah and I hung out in the hotel room in the morning. Here is a cute one of Noah in the hotel chair.
Then we headed to Roswell to visit Aunt Charlene and Uncle Kyle. They have 2 dogs and Noah has never really been around dogs, so I was interested to see what he thought of the dogs and what they thought of him! Noah wasn't really phased too much by them, he liked to watch them. Lilly was very interested in Noah at first, but soon lost interest - I think because she realized he took priority over her! Gus on the other hand was very jealous! He was even trying to nudge Noah out of Aunt Charlene's lap! It was pretty funny. Here is Charlene with all the "babies"
Noah and I had a great day with Kyle and Charlene - thanks again for hosting us for the day!
When we got back to the hotel, Dan was still eating with some other people that were attending the conference. Noah was a little fussy, so him and I walked around the gardens at the hotel. Once again, he loved just looking all around and taking it all in. His favorite was this fountain. I love the look on his face!
On Monday, there were some storms that ruled out walking or visiting the pool, so Noah and I just relaxed in the room for the day. I did some knitting and Noah and I did a lot of playing and cuddling. Here are a few cute pictures from the day.

Noah did great on the ride home too. We had to make one pit stop because he was a little sick of being in the car seat, but for most of the trip he was either sleeping or pretty happy. Our first trip as a family was a success!

3 month pictures

On Tuesday, I took Noah to get some pictures taken for his 3 month milestone. We are so grateful for our friend Catie for helping us capture our sweet little guy at this fun stage in his life. We took the pictures in Catie's backyard and we used a quilt that my Aunt Lois made for Noah. The quilt has the entire alphabet on it, and then surrounding each letter are fabrics that contain things that start with that letter. It is definitely something we will always treasure, and it made the perfect backdrop for these pictures. Here are a few of my favorites.

And this is Noah with Catie's daughter McKinley. Catie and I always joke that they aren't going to have much of a choice, they are going to have to be best friends!! They seem to like each other pretty well here...let's hope this pattern continues!

And before we left we got some shots of me and Noah...I will always treasure these sweet moments with my little boy and the amazing friend who captured all these moments. Thanks Catie!!

Rollin, Rollin, Rollin

So on Monday when Noah turned 3 months old, my mom stopped by to visit. We were sitting on the floor talking when all of a sudden Noah rolled over! We have been working a lot on tummy time and head control, but it had been kind of hit or miss if Noah felt up for tummy time.
He's rolled over 3 more times since that first time that we practically missed! I caught one on video...I love how proud he looks at the end.

3 months old

It's hard to believe, but Noah turned 3 months old on Monday. He loves to look all around and see all that's going on. Just like his parents, he loves to people watch! He also loves putting everything in his mouth, especially his fingers! It is truly amazing to see him growing and learning and changing each and every day.
It took a lot of hard work for me to get that picture!! Most of the time Noah just wanted to eat the pompoms on the giraffe!

Father's Day Weekend

Our Father's Day Weekend has been packed with lots of fun! My sister and her girls came down from Durham to visit. Noah absolutely LOVES watching his cousins every move. They were so good about entertaining him.
Noah absolutely loves them and I think they're pretty fond of him too!!

 Cousins!!
After church on Sunday, we had everyone over for lunch and then we decided that we would take Noah to the pool for the first time. We weren't sure how he would do, but we knew he would look good doing it!!

He wasn't too sure about it at first...
But he warmed up to it a little bit

He loved kicking his legs and riding around in his little float
Me and my little boy :)
I think Noah's favorite part of the whole pool experience was getting out and getting some wiggle time!

So grateful for Dan and the supportive father and husband that he has become. We are also so thankful for both of our dads and their influence on our lives. Happy Father's Day!!

11 Weeks

Noah is 11 weeks old and full of smiles!
We have been working a lot on tummy time. He was in the habit of just licking the blanket anytime that we did tummy time which really defeated the purpose, but my mom found this blanket at Ikea that has different animals to play with at each corner. Noah really loves this duck and it has really helped him to stop licking the blanket and pick his head up more.

He has also found his hands recently and is constantly putting them in his mouth and sucking on them. Even though all I can really think about are all the germs, I have to admit, he is pretty cute!
