Noah's First Fiesta!

One Saturday, we had Noah's first birthday party. Many thanks to my sister Suzi, brother in law Greg, nieces Katie and Julia, and my mother in law Kathy for helping to set everything up and make it all possible! I couldn't have done it without them! We chose to do a Mexican Fiesta theme because Noah loves Mexican food! I was also able to get a lot of decorations from our babysitter because they did a "fiesta freshman" theme for their homecoming float, so it worked out great that we had lots of fun decorations for FREE! I made Noah a little sign for his high chair with some ribbon I had and construction paper.

My friend Jennifer also helped me make this sign out of scrapbook paper and cardstock. Hopefully we will be able to re-use this sign for years to come!

For favors, I made sugar cookies and put a gumdrop in the middle to make them look like sombreros. They turned out pretty cute! Thanks to my friend Lauren for helping me with those!

I also thought it would be fun to do a selfie booth. I borrowed some fiesta stuff from friends and family and it was a fun for people to dress up and take pictures during the party. We also did #Noahs1stFiesta so that you can see everyone's pictures.

Here are a few of my favorites
 Uncle Kyle & Aunt Charlene

Friends Sean & Randi

Dan (with the smallest sombrero ever), Noah, and me (with the biggest sombrero ever)

 Friends Jennifer, Jason & Jonas

My nieces Julia and Katie

My friend Courtney Johnson made the cupcakes and Noah's smash cake. They were exactly what I wanted and they tasted great! Visit Courtney's facebook page here

The birthday boy did great! I was a little worried that he might be overwhelmed by all of the people, but he did surprisingly well!

He was a little hesitant about his cake at first, just taking very small bites.

But it didn't take long for him to dig in!

It was a great day and we are so thankful for all of the friends and family that made it so special by helping beforehand, coming to enjoy the day with us, and spoiling our little guy with such sweet and thoughtful gifts. We are truly blessed with an amazing family and friends who feel like they could be family too! Truly grateful for the undeserved love and support that God has surrounded us with! Happy Birthday to my sweet boy!

1 year check up

We went to the doctor today for Noah's 1 year check up. He wasn't a big fan of getting all of his stats taken, but we managed!

30.5 inches long (76%)
20 pounds (28%)

Long and skinny! The doctor said that he thinks he's going to be taller than Dan who is about 6'1"! We will see what happens - I hope we can keep this boy in pants that are long enough!!

The nurse had to do a finger prick to check Noah's iron levels. He was not phased at all by the finger prick. However, the band aid that she put on his finger was very bothersome!!

Noah got an A+ report from the doctor! Praise The Lord for our healthy little boy!

Happy Birthday Noah!!!

My little boy is 1!! How did that happen?!?! What a blessing this first year with Noah has been. He continues to be a very content and happy child. He is walking everywhere! He loves to climb and be outside. He is a great eater - we are actually trying to find something that he doesn't like - olives, tomatoes, you name it, he eats it! Let's hope he keeps that up! He is waving bye, blowing kisses, giving hugs and kisses, and shrugging with is hands up when he doesn't know where somebody or someone is. He also has this adorable little trick.

We are so excited for summer and getting outside a little bit more and watching this boy grow and explore! God has graciously blessed us with such a sweet little boy and we thank Him every day for this fun time in our lives! Looking forward to celebrating his life this weekend with some family and friend. Will post pictures of that soon, but for now, here are some of my favorites from Noah's 1 year photo session by the one and only Catie Lovelace http://www.lovelaceproductions.com/
